ODMafia Restaurant Review

Sallie and her wonderful staff!

The ODMafia group (which you’re probably a member if you like the N. Myrtle Beach lifestyle and our laid-back life in flip-flop philosophy) are always discussing things we could do to make our site more useful to locals, semi-locals, and our visitors that come only once or twice a year.

One of the things that we are asked most often, “Where can we eat that’s close, reasonably priced, great food, reasonably priced, super service, and that is reasonably priced?”

We try to answer the best we can but we all have our favorites and some of us (particularly me) are creatures of habit. For the next few weeks, we’re going to do a “restaurant review” of some of the establishments of NMB. We may continue if we get a positive response.

This is a new endeavor for me so please be patient.

Our very good friends Greg and Cindy Martin recommended Tidewater Grill to us. Greg likes to eat as much as I do and Cindy is a fantastic cook so we figured they knew of what they spoke. We chose Tidewater for our first review.

Tidewater Grill
1200 Old Highway 17 North, Suite 106
North Myrtle Beach SC

The first thing I noticed when I entered was the interior has had a complete makeover. The restaurant looks and feels comfortable. We were promptly greeted by “Lisa”. She seated us and took our drink orders. Lisa returned in moments with our beverages and told us of their “specials” and reviewed the menu.

Debby ordered the crab cakes, I ordered the grouper. While we waited I scanned the dining area, singles, couples and families were seated and all seemed to be enjoying their meals and conversation. The restaurant was busy, but not loud.

I was mildly surprised when Lisa returned with our dinner. Most of the tables were taken and I was expecting a longer wait.

Debby said I should mention “presentation”. OK, it looked good but looks don’t mean anything if it doesn’t taste good. The food was so good I forgot to make any mental notes as to what I should say in the review. None the less, Tidewater Grill is a great restaurant to try when you are hungry and looking for that special place to go. Clean, Comfortable, Great food, Super service and all reasonably priced.

You can find their menu, pricing and a little more about Tidewater grill on their website.
