Last night two photographers were working at the newly renovated CAPTAIN ARCHIE’S.  DAN and our lovely freelance photographer MELISSA HINSON stayed busy trying to capture the fun on film. It was the Grand-Reopening of CAPTAIN ARCHIE’S which has truly been transformed.  The work done is amazing.  If it wasn’t for the beautiful waitstaff and loyal locals you would not recognize the place.  No band is better to kick off a party than the TIM ELLIOTT BAND.  These guys put the rock and roll into country soul and are definitely one ODMafia’s top three bands.  BILLY RIGGS, you done good!  PHOTOS are posted and can be found on our PHOTO page.

Friday at the beach means only one thing.  It’s an all out deck party as Ray Scott & Scott Beasley takes to the webwaves to bring you the best in beach music.  ODMafia picture taker Dan Summitt stopped by to snap a few pictures of the pair of Scotts, locals and visitorsl.  Also had the opportunity to hang out with one of my favorite DJs  Gene Sistare.  Photos are posted and can be viewed and/or downloaded from our PHOTO page.

I was proud to be asked to DJ for Stewart Heubi’s Celebration of Life.  His wife Jackie explained that Stewart wanted to have a party at Captain Archie’s.  This was truly a celebration of life by Stewart and Jackie’s Closest friends. The celebration was called Stewart’s Final Happy Hour.  I was honored to be part of this event.  Photos are posted and can be viewed or downloaded by selecting Photos from the Main Menu.

Five or six days ago I was at Duck’s Night Life (I know that’s not a big surprise).  Dwayne always makes time to talk with his customers and I took advantage of his availability. I gave Dwayne one of my Veterans Welcome Home and Resource Center business cards. Dwayne asked what I needed. I explained that we needed lots of things but the only thing I was asking that day is that he visit our website to learn about us. Dwayne said he would.

A few days passed and I was back at Duck’s. Dwayne approached me and stated that he had been to our website and wanted to know how he and Robin could help. I rattled off several items that we needed, things that would not be terribly expensive. Dwanye said he wanted to do more.

Sunday February 27, Scott Dulebohn and I met with Robin and Dwayne. Both expressed their desire to help our homeless Veterans. Dwayne stated that he was sure with the help of his loyal customer base that Duck’s Night Life could sponsor one of our “Tiny Homes”. Dwayne stated he didn’t want to make a big deal of his pledge. Hey, it is a big deal and I wanted to let everyone in the surrounding area know the type of true American Patriots we have owning and managing Duck’s Night Life.

We are truly blessed by having Robin, Dwayne, and Paul George in our great city. They are an asset to our community. I am proud to have them as friends.

The SOUTH SIDE SAINTS are rocking and rolling their way into the hearts of all that hear them.  They have become regulars at DUCK’S NIGHT LIFE.  This 3 piece band is small in numbers but big on sound thanks to the masterful work of Klint Ford.  Catch them the next time at DUCK’S, the premiere club of NORTH MYRTLE BEACH.  PHOTOS CAN BE VIEWED/DOWNLOADED BY SELECTING PHOTOS FROM OUR MAIN MENU.

The folks at Murphy’s showed their true colors today and that color was Pink.  The fundraiser for Sarah was a huge success as almost everyone arrived wearing pink.  The turnout demonstrates the love and concern the patrons of Murphy’s have for one another.   Thanks to everyone that came out, the management, waitstaff and Route 65 for making this a great event.  We love you Sarah, we’re here for you.

The sound of the beach, thunder clashing, lightning flashing and not a cloud in the sky could only mean one thing. Cat 5 has cranked it up.  Never have I seen a meshing of different personalities and talent blend so well.  These guys were destined to perform together.  ODMafia didn’t have a meterologist at Duck’s but we did have freelance photographer Melissa Hinson on the scene and she was able to document the rock & roll storm that ensued.  Photos are posted and can be viewed  by following the link in our main menu at the top of the page.

I’ve discovered in the 16 + years that we’ve been in North Myrtle Beach that Angels are among us.  I had the honor today of taking photos for one.  Marlisa Small and her Volunteers held a golf tournament at “The Links at Brick Landing” to benefit the Bold & Beautiful Wigs for Cancer operation that Marlisa heads.

Marlisa has won crowns for her outer beauty.  Those crowns cannot compare to the one she will be awarded in Heaven for her inner beauty.  Marlisa and all the men and women who volunteered this morning, all of you are truly Angels.  You are cetainly assets to the community.

The largest 3 piece band on the beach. These guys can return you to the 80’s and don’t need a DeLorean to do it. They don’t stop there. Southside Saints play beach, country and classic rock and add their own unique style to it. If you get a chance catch them at a venue near you or wait til they return to Duck’s where they bring you the best entertainment on the beach.
