It was a great Sunday at the world-renowned O.D. Arcade as the throngs of beach lovers gathered to celebrate D.J Heavy’s Birthday. Heavy came to the beach and quickly became the favorite R&B (with plenty of Soul) DJ. His afternoon show has secured a permanent spot on radio dials throughout 94.9’s listening area. DJ Heavy was honored by friends and family. Don’t you just love it when God blurs the difference between the two.
O.D. Mafia’s very own beautiful and bubbly photographer, Robin Cloud visited an O.D. Mafia favorite venue, Goodfella’s on 2nd where the legendary Sea Cruz was performing. Dino, Butch, and Allie brought the heat as always. Robin captured the fun and excitement to film.

Deckerz is a Friday mainstay for Locals at North Myrtle Beach. Riptide Radio’s multiple-award winning DJ Ray Scott does the beach music countdown attracting our local stars and some not too local celebrities. You really never know who may show. You’ve not been to the beach until you spend a Friday afternoon/evening at Deckerz Bar & Grill.
The fantastic, fun and extreme Konnection Band was the entertainment at Duck’s Night Life tasked with bringing in the New Year. No one can bring a truck load of party like Konnection and they certainly delivered. The super-talented Melissa Hinson was there to capture their antics to film.
O.D. Mafia’s Ms. Sunshine and Summertime, Melissa Hinson was spreading her lovely smiles along Ocean Drive. Fortunately for us, she stopped by the gem of North Myrtle Beach, the Ocean Drive Beach and Golf Resort. The South Side Saints were rocking in Hoto’s and the ever-popular, multiple CBMA award-winning Too Much Sylvia was laying down the rhythm at the world-famous Spanish Galleon. Wow! What a New Year’s Celebration!!!
It was a fun-filled evening as O.D. Mafia DJ Dan Summitt rocked the crowd with classic rock, disco, and Motown hits from days gone by but not forgotten. The dance floor was filled and overflowed throughout the club and their outside deck. O.D. Mafia Photographers turned out in force. Thanks Angela. We hope everyone has as much fun as we did. Photos by Dan & Pam.
It is always a great evening when Jim Quick, the absolute King of the Carolina Beach Music scene is in the house. Jim Quick & Coastline brought their very own Swamp Soul to 3001 and as the music pounded the crowd was swept away to a land of smiles, sunshine and endless parties. Jim has a way of mesmerizing the crowd (probably some of the VooDoo stuff he learned from King Tyrone). Jim & Coastline didn’t carve a niche in the music industry, they invented a whole different genre with their soulful sounds of the Carolina swamps. OD Mafia can’t capture the aura and excitement of Jim but we try. Photos are posted.
Wow! What a treat. Checking out the other clubs at the world-renown 3001, Jim Quick and Coastline were scheduled in Club Rewind a little later in the evening. When I walked into Bourbon Cowboy I was overwhelmed by the heart-pounding, pulsating sound of “Chasing Phoenix”. I had never heard this band before but will certainly hear them again. Catch “Chasing Phoenix whenever they play at a venue near you, you certainly won’t regret it.
