One of our new photographers, the sweet and charming Robin Cloud wasted no time fitting in to her photography role at her first CBMA weekend. Plenty of tailgating and fun at the Carolina Beach Music Awards show at the Alabama Theater as fans eager to see their favorite artists filled the parking lot early in anticipation of the spectacle yet to come. This was a power-packed evening showcasing the very best singers, songwriters, and musicians on the east coast. We all had our favorites, some won, some didn’t. It has been obvious to me, we have too much talent for the number of awards given, a great problem for us to have. How lucky can a man be. I had the absolute pleasure today of working with two of O.D. Mafia’s beautiful and super talented photographers. The bewitching Robin Cloud and the stunning Patsy Heatley allowed me to work along side them in capturing the magnificent beauties that constitutes the group simply entitled “Women of the Beach”. Each of these dazzling beauties are great solo artists, together their blended talents mesmerize their audiences like the sirens of the sea. O.D. Mafia’s very own vision of rainbows and lollipops, Melissa Hinson ventured to the O.D. Golf & Beach Resort to capture the excitement of the Carolina Beach Music Awards. It was a gorgeous Friday evening and Riptide Radio’s Live Broadcast featuring Ray Scott from the deck of Deckerz Bar & Grill was in full swing as they did their Beach Music Countdown. Newbies, Locals, Friends and Family filled the parking lot. The Scott Brothers (Ray and Beasley) were in great form as they entertained the exuberant crowd. And as a special treat, the alluring Marlisa Kay Small debuted her new release “No Matter Where You Go”. A storm was brewing and Duck’s Night Life found itself in the Cone of Certainty as CAT5 made a path to their stage to perform in front of a packed house. Those that know this band personally will attest to the character and charisma of each of it’s members. This 5 piece band rocks with energy, passion, and showmanship. Why are the Southern Belles of North Myrtle Beach so unbelievably beautiful? One, they are truly Carolina Girls. Two, they shop at Southern Threads at 653 Main Street in the Ocean Drive section of North Myrtle Beach. Today, Southern Threads hosted their pre-CBMA event, “Sip and Shop”. Quite a few of our beauties were spotted sipping, shopping, and having a really fun time. O.D. North Myrtle Beach’s own sensational Southern-Belle, Christina Black provided the entertainment at a private birthday party for Pat attended by a large crowd comprised of the popular singer’s fans from venues up and down the strand. The sunset was stunning as neighbors’ friends and fans danced the night away on this gorgeous autumn evening. Whether Country, Rock, or Beach Christina kept the melodies flowing and the folks dancing. O.D. When attending a Tim Elliott performance, you quickly realize why he was recently voted Carolina’s Male Country Artist of the Year. Tim rocked his many fans at Duck’s Night Life with his turbo charged, soulful, energetic show that takes you to the edge of excitement and back. Local on the Water continues their practice of booking the best East Coast Bands and Friday night was no exception. The Main Event Band from Greenville, NC provides the ultimate party experience. Whether it’s Classic Rock, R & B, Funk, Beach or turbo-charged Country this band does it all. The show at Local on the Water was fantastic and speaking of fantastic, O.D. If in the Royal Realm of O.D. Mafia we had a King of Main, it would have to be the fun-loving and charismatic Ricky T. Ricky has spread smiles and his country charm throughout Ocean Drive. Wednesday evening found Ricky T and his signature red, white, and blue guitar at one of O.D. Mafia’s favorite hide outs, Goodfella’s on 2nd. Making the evening even better, O.D.
