The Full Moon Party at the Marina Raw Bar was in full swing as Crazy Bear Entertainment finished their set and the beautifully, talented (make you howl at the moon} Christina Black took the stage and captivated her many fans with her southern charm and strong and soulful vocals. Our Sweet and Sassy Melissa Hinson packed her camera and pocketsful of smiles and sunshine then headed to Local on the Water.  Playing was Gary Lowder & Smoking Hot, a big band based out of North Myrtle Beach, SC.  This electric, energetic band specializes in dance, Motown and definitely party music from the 50’s thru today.  This funky band is led by the charismatic Gary Lowder and is one of the most sought-after bands at the beach.  Melissa captured great memories and added to the excitement of the night.  PHOTOS ARE HERE.

It’s a never-ending summer at Goodfella’s on 2nd when the beautiful Christina Black turns up the heat as she delights us with her amazing vocals and southern charm.  She is one of the most talented and successful singers on the Grand Strand with a strong following of admirers.  Make a point to catch Christina whenever she stars at a venue near you.  OD Mafia’s very own artistically talented Robin Cloud were there to take these photos.  Check them out here!!!

Patio’s Tiki Bar & Grill is known for their great food and beautiful setting.  The scenery got even better as the beautiful and talented Christina Black owned the stage at this popular venue.  Christina has a varied playlist composed of beach, pop, and country that she performs flawlessly.  Her southern soul comes thru on each selection regardless of the genre.  O.D. It was a Super Sunday of entertainment at Deckerz Bar & Grill as the dynamite duo of Rick & Lesa kicked off the afternoon. Rick & Lisa can always ignite a parking lot party wherever they play. The toe-tapping wasn’t over as Jeff James, a true country artist who has been delighting audiences with legendary country ballads up and down the strand. Whether it’s Merle, Waylon, Conway or Hank, this artist is a Master of Music adding his own unique sound to their country hits. The sweet-sounding storm known as CAT5 blew into Duck’s Night Life with a rhythmic fury that brings life to the night. Storm chasers were there to enjoy the melodious thunder and lightning that always accompanies this phenomenal group of super-talented and charismatic musicians. Not to be out done, O.D. Yee Haw!  “Holler & Swaller” is synonymous with Jeff James and there was a whole lot of both going on Wednesday evening.  Jeff is quickly becoming a regular at Good Fellas on 2nd and I for one appreciate it.  Goodfellas has some of the best Old Bay Wings in Horry County (the Carolina Burger and Rib Eye sandwiches rate right alongside).  Their waitstaff is second to none.  Jeff performs the legendary country hits in a fashion that might make the original performer green with envy.  All in all, it was a great evening filled with super entertainment, great food and good friends both new and old.  Photos are here.

October is breast cancer awareness month and the folks of the Tour DeLux Rally stepped forth again.  Tour DeLux Rally is a non-profit organization that promotes and produces multi-day vehicle rallies with proceeds going to various charities.  Bold & Beautiful Wigs for Cancer is their charity of choice for their fall rally.  The rally’s celebration party/dinner was held this year at Dueling Pianos at Broadway at the Beach.  Photos of the festivities can be found HERE.

It was fun getting out tonight, seeing old friends and making new ones.  I stopped by Duck’s Sidewalk Cafe where Jeff James was playing, visited with friends at International Cafe and stopped in at the Clothing Center to check on my friend Richard.  From there it was off the Goodfellas on Second.  The super-talented Tammy  Barbour was providing the entertainment.  Grabbed a couple of Carolina Burgers to go and then back home.  All in all, a fun night.  Photos can be found by following this link.

Wow!  What an afternoon!  The delightfully dangerous duo of Deb Browning and Marlisa Small provided the entertainment for the “Bras Across Patio’s” breast cancer awareness event hosted by Patio’s.  It was obvious to all that the management and staff of Patio’s invested a tremendous amount of time and effort to insure this event was a success.  To add their support and to capture all the memories and smiles, both ODMafia photographers, the lovely Melissa and old man Dan were there.  Photos can be found by following this link.

Marlisa & Deb were the featured entertainment for the J. Baldwin for City Council Meet & Greet held at the world renown O.D. Pavilion.  J. addressed the large contingent of voters and shared his impressive vision for North Myrtle Beach.  Marlisa and Deb added their spark to the event with their electrifying voices and bewitching beauty.  It was a great night.  Photos are posted and can be viewed here.

Michael visited Duck’s Night Life as he had done hundreds of times before.  It was a great night and Michael really loved ODMafia and strived to make it the best it could be.  Michael enjoyed working the Camp Kemo events and fund raisers we worked to support.  And he really like taking photos of the bands and the party people that come out.  The Tim Clark Band was the entertainment and Tim always lit up the stage with his talent and personality.  Tim has always been an O.D. Mafia favorite.  He always let the fans know that “ODMafia is in the house”.  He often brought called us to the stage.  Michael always appreciated it, it made our job of taking pics so much easier.  You can tell by the pics that Michael had a good night.  No one would have guessed it would have been his last.  Michael, I miss you buddy.  OD Mafia is not the same without you.  The last memories Michael captured can be found below.

Two of my favorite people were entertaining at one of my favorite venues.  the delightfully dangerous duo of Deb Browning and Marlisa Small brought their bubbly beauty and tremendous talent to Goodfellas on 2nd to light up a rainy evening.  And light it up they did.  The melodies inside flowed like the rain off the roof.  Our two lovely ladies were joined in a few songs by Warren (Doc) McDonald.  Goodfellas is the home of everyone’s favorite couple, Justin and Annie Tucker, that tells you that the service is great and the food is super.  Stop in for dinner.  You’ll be glad you did.  Check out our Photos HERE.

People not familiar with our life in flip-flop philosophy and the nuances of beach life often ask me “What is beach music?” That is sometime difficult to answer, beach music is more than a genre.  It’s a lifestyle, a feeling.  It makes you smile.  And the epitome of beach music is The Entertainers.  Regardless of what they play, not just the standards, it comes across as beach music.  Creating something like “the Entertainers” is difficult, but nothing compared to the effort of maintaining the essence of the group, the very character.  Earl Dawkins has done just that.  Congratulations Earl and thanks to you and all your guys for making us smile.  Pics are posted here.
