O.D. Mafia royalty was out and about Friday. Our very own photo princess, Pam Gilbert visited Duck’s Night Life where the King of Main, Ricky T was bringing his country fun to Duck’s Cafe. Inside Duck’s Main Club, the Emperor of Funk, Chocolate Chip was bringing the heat with his soulful, yet energetic sound pulsating thru the very heart and soul of his many fans. We gathered at the Umpteenth Annual Friendsgiving Celebration to honor the memory of a remarkable soul. Greg Martin, a friend, a father, and a devoted husband. His life was a symphony of kindness, generosity, and unwavering love for all. If you knew Greg you remember the warmth and honesty of his smile, the strength of his hugs readily given to his friends, and the wisdom that was Greg Martin. Cindy and Greg were known thru out North Myrtle Beach as a couple that would brighten any room with their presence. They were also known for the huge Friendsgiving dinner given the Saturday before Thanksgiving. It was fitting that Cindy chose this Friendship dinner to celebrate the life of Greg. The Carolina Beach Music Award Club & Mobile DJ award winner, J.J. Jay Kinlaw was kicking out the tunes at the beautifully Christmas decorated top floor of the Roco Roja Cantina. The music was flowing and so was the tequila. Everyone had a great time; Jay has a knack for knowing what to play and when to play it. O.D. Mafia’s Photo Princess, the lovely Pam Gilbert was very, very busy as she captured smiles and gave away some of her own. Pam snapped great photos of the phenomenal Tonez Band as they brought the heat to Duck’s Night Life, while the King of Main Ricky T brought the country to one of O.D. Mafia’s hideout, the stupendous Goodfella’s on 2nd., and of course the multiple award winning and HOF member DJ Ray Scott hit the deck at Deckerz like a fireball (pun intended). The fun never ends at North Myrtle Beach and neither does O.D. Mafia’s alluring and energetic photographer, Melissa Hinson. After a busy but exciting day at the Carolina Beach Music Awards show at Alabama Theater Melissa headed downtown for the infamous CBMA afterparties. A number of people (including myself) has claimed to have been abducted by aliens and cloned, swearing they would have never done what they were photographed doing. Photos are posted. One of our new photographers, the sweet and charming Robin Cloud wasted no time fitting in to her photography role at her first CBMA weekend. Robin steped in and made the rounds of the parking lot parties and snapped great photos of the merrymakers. Robin fits well with what OD Mafia does. Plenty of tailgating and fun at the Carolina Beach Music Awards show at the Alabama Theater as fans eager to see their favorite artists filled the parking lot early in anticipation of the spectacle yet to come. This was a power-packed evening showcasing the very best singers, songwriters, and musicians on the east coast. We all had our favorites, some won, some didn’t. It has been obvious to me, we have too much talent for the number of awards given, a great problem for us to have. The Association, their staff, and volunteers’ efforts made the 2023 CBMA weekend the best ever. Thank you! 
How lucky can a man be. I had the absolute pleasure today of working with two of O.D. Mafia’s beautiful and super talented photographers. The bewitching Robin Cloud and the stunning Patsy Heatley allowed me to work along side them in capturing the magnificent beauties that constitutes the group simply entitled “Women of the Beach”. Each of these dazzling beauties are great solo artists, together their blended talents mesmerize their audiences like the sirens of the sea. Expect great things to come from these fine artists, individually and collectively. 
O.D. Mafia’s very own vision of rainbows and lollipops, Melissa Hinson ventured to the O.D. Golf & Beach Resort to capture the excitement of the Carolina Beach Music Awards. She was able to save to film memories of the Hall of Fame nominees, the super Sand Band and the legendary Band of Oz. Not a bad night for our fun-loving photographer. 
It was a gorgeous Friday evening and Riptide Radio’s Live Broadcast featuring Ray Scott from the deck of Deckerz Bar & Grill was in full swing as they did their Beach Music Countdown. Newbies, Locals, Friends and Family filled the parking lot. The Scott Brothers (Ray and Beasley) were in great form as they entertained the exuberant crowd. And as a special treat, the alluring Marlisa Kay Small debuted her new release “No Matter Where You Go”. Marlisa has a powerful, yet angelic voice that builds the emotional fire of this song she wrote. It was a great night with super friends.
