Another great time at HOTO’s as one of my favorite group of musicians got together for fun and play and a little music in between. The Malarkey Brothers always bring a paper poke full of fun with them where ever they play. Last night was no exception. Casey on guitar & vocals, Jim on keyboard & vocals, and Albert Rogers on bass and vocals are a great combination. Anytime I hear Tupelo Honey and Satisfy My Soul by Albert I pull Debby a little closer and feel kind of warm and fuzzy inside. I love these guys (in a manly sorta way).

Two of my favorite DJ’s were at Fat Harold’s Beach Club, the last true shag and beach club on the strand. Jay Kinlaw and Eddie Anderson was pumping out the tunes and of course they kept the dance floor hopping. Wednesday is the new Friday at Fat Harold’s. Stop by and say hello to Jay. Tell him the O.D. Absolutely one of OD Mafia’s favorite street performers is Jody Lineberry. Dwayne and Robin Porter found a real entertainer when they brought Jody to Duck’s Sidewalk Cafe. Not only is he fun and entertaining, he can sing also. Stop by Duck’s Sidewalk Cafe and catch this young man every Wednesday. You’ll be glad you did.

TCB, Taking Care of Business or Tim Clark Band, all are interchangeable when discussing this group of musicians. Whenever Tim Clark takes the stage you know he has surrounded himself with top-notch musicians with one goal, to entertain and that’s exactly what they did at Captain Archie’s. Nothing but Swamp Soul and Classic Coastline as the one and only Jim Quick owned the stage at the O.D. Pavilion. I’ve never been to a Coastline show (and I’ve been to thousands) that I didn’t leave with a smile. Today was no different. You never know what Jim may say or do but you know it’s all in fun. His antics along with his talents have resulted in more than a trillion Entertainer of the Year Carolina Beach Music Awards. Photos are posted.

Anytime you can spend the morning with Marlisa and all the wonderful men and women volunteers that helped make the Bold & Beautiful Golf Tournament happen is a great day. We were pleased to be given the opportunity to capture the fun to film. A big shout out to Marlisa, her staff of volunteers, Tidewater Golf Club and all the participants that made this event a huge success. Photos are posted and available on our Photo Album page.

It was hit and miss whether the Thursday Night Music On Main would take place with the threat of rain. Light sprinkles were in the area causing the start time to be delayed fifteen minutes. The band started at 7:15 and the crowd quickly grew to one of the largest of the season which is no surprise to anyone that is a fan of the Entertainers. The ageless Earl Dawkins sounds the same as he did 35 or 40 years ago and he has surrounded himself with super-talent. This is OD Mafia’s favorite band.  Photos are posted here.

Our very own Photo Princess, the cute and sassy Pam Gilbert recently had her high school reunion and what better place to have one than Duck’s Night Life. And to put icing on the cake, the Randy Atwood Band was performing. This is one of OD Mafia’s favorite country bands. Pam captured all the fun and excitement to film and pics are posted.

The festival had a great line-up consisting of the Embers featuring Craig Woolard, the Carolina Coast Band with Rhonda McDaniel, and The ever-popular Catalinas. Definitely my favorite venue at the beach is the O D Pavilion. This storied building holds more memories than all of the OD Mafia cameras combined. Today RiverMist absolutely owned the stage with a mixture of classic rock, a little country and beach on Red Bull. The attendees that weren’t on the floor were dancing in their seats. The folks that didn’t come out because of the threat of rain really missed a good day. Catch RiverMist at a venue near you. You’ll be glad you did. Photos are posted.

Our very lovely Melissa Hinson, OD Mafia freelance photographer visited Captain Archie’s Saturday night and snapped great photos of the Jebb Mac Band. This band plays classic rock, hip hop and country all with a country flair. It’s hard to describe, the best thing to do is catch this band whenever they are at a venue near you. You’ll be glad you did.

It’s always Friday on Main Street. You can always find a party if you look and you don’t have to look hard. Duck’s Sidewalk Cafe is always hopping and Thursday was no different. The Mayor of Main Street, Ricky T has his voice back and is in prime form bringing you his unique country sound. Team Drink!

An evening of Jim Quick & Coastline bringing their swamp-soul voodoo magic to Music on Main and the large crowd that came out mesmerized by the sounds of the old Santee. You can always expect a great performance when Coastline is the headliner and this show was no different. Jim was in top form as the band played a variety of new and classic Coastline hits that brings back memories of good times at HOTO’s in Cherry Grove.  Absolutely no one does it better than Jim Quick.

It was a wicked walk-about Wednesday with all the fun and excitement Main Street can bring. The Malarkey Brothers featuring Jim Quick, Casey Meyer & Albert Rogers at HOTO’s outdoor stage, Jodi Hunter owned the sidewalk Wednesday at Duck’s Night Life, Eddie Anderson had a packed house at Fat Harold’s the only true Beach Club in Ocean Drive and Jeff James and his own unique country sound had the deck at Deckerz rockin’ & reelin’. Nights like this rivals a Friday night anywhere else.

It was a two in one night for our Photo Princess Pam Gilbert. Pamela captured the antics of the super-popular Band Switch and the fun and excitement of a birthday party at Duck’s Night Life. Thanks Pam. Good work as always.
