2021-12-11 Long Bay Symphony ft Clyde McPhatters Drifters @ the Spanish Galleon
One of the best shows of the year, the Drifters and the Long Bay Symphony hosted by Big John Thompson. A true triple threat. Either one by themselves would have been great. The three together was absolutely one of the best shows on the beach. I hope this type of entertainment is an annual event at the Spanish Galleon.

I may be the only person that looks forward to Monday but with Murphy’s Staff, Locals, Regulars, and Visitors, this place is fun. Also a big congrats to Joy, our friend and dance instructor. She headed a group of dancers and competed in a National Line Dance Competition in Las Vegas. Her team finished second which is a super accomplishment in this prestigious event. Wow! Hundreds of beautiful people at Alabama Theater for the Carolina Beach Music Academy Awards and I was fortunate enough to escort the most beautiful. I know a lot of you guys feel the same about your wife and so you should.
Highlights of the event, Karen Clayton won Female Vocalist of the Year. This was long overdue. Gary Lowder won Male Vocalist of the Year which is well-deserved, and Deb Browning won Rising Star. I am confident this will not be Deb’s last Award. Too Much Sylvia won the new category, Best Video, Jim Quick and Coastline for best album and Cat 5 won everything else. 2021-11-11 Veterans Day Celebration ft. DJ Dan Summitt and Root 65 @ Murphys On The Beach
Murphys on the ocean at Cherry Grove pulled all the stops for their Veterans Day Celebration. The revelry started at noon with ODMafia DJ Dan Summitt cranking out the tunes to our locals, visitors, and staff of the Veterans Welcome Home and Resource Center. The crowd grew through-out the day in anticipation of the turbo-charged, extraordinary band ROOT 65 and Squirrels world-renown barbecue. Dan finished his day by playing “God Bless the USA” to the flag waving crowd and ROOT 65 immediately kicked off their super show by singing the “Star Spangled Banner”. It gave me chills. The staff of Murphys took care of all of us with their exceptional service to which we all have become accustomed. The manager of Murphys, Deborah Mason arranged a great day for all of us. Thanks Deborah for your time and effort invested not only in this day but each and every day at Murphys that has made it one of the premiere clubs of North Myrtle Beach!!!
2021-11-11 Veterans Day Celebration – Radio Broadcast @ VWHRC-Quilts of Valor @ River Hills Country Club
Veteran’s Day started early with interviews by 94.5 at the Veterans Welcome Home and Resource Center about our military service. When asked about Hanoi Jane Fonda, I voiced my thoughts of her which are not very positive. By the response to my statement a large number of Veterans agreed.
From there, we traveled to River Hills Golf Course for the Quilts of Valor ceremony. The Quilts of Valor organization is made up of truly special individual that “wrap” veterans in a beautiful lovingly hand-made quilt. Mine is one of my proudest possessions.
