A Public Service Announcement from OD Mafia:  The alignment of Jupiter’s moon with that of the Earth’s moon coincides with the birthday of Lory Rice.  This could be a turbulent turning point in the history of Mankind.  People considered normal, sane, adults should bar their doors and not venture out until this threat passes.  Probably several more days.  Those choosing to ignore this warning will probably awaken with significantly fewer brain cells.  The only upside is the weak cells die first leaving the stronger more fit ones or what is commonly referred to as Cerebral Darwinism.  This has been a Public Service Announcement.

It’s a Holiday Band Hullabaloo at Ducks Beach Club when the boys from Burlington return.  The Holiday Band  take the stage between 8 and 9pm and will play until 12:30 or 1am.   The Holiday Band’s interaction with the audience is unbelievable, their talent phenomenal.  This premier party band is definitely a crowd pleaser.  OD Mafia‘s Big Tony is certainly a fan of the Cammy Award winning Holiday Band.  You will be too.

On the Ocean Front deck of HOTO‘s in Cherry Grove it’s “One Bad Apple” tonight from 7 to 11pm.  OD Mafia hasn’t had the opportunity to hear this band but one thing is for certain, you have to be good to play for Fat Harold.  Come for dinner, stay for the entertainment.  Harold’s on the Ocean, the locals call it HOTO’s.  OD Mafia calls it home.

It’s an ODMafia friend and associate that gets the party started at Ducks Beach Club at 7pm with free Line Dance lessons.  Whether it’s the Electric Slide, Tush Push, Bikers Shuffle or the latest Line Dance our lovely Dixie Buttons knows them all.  Better yet, she knows how to teach them.  Come on out and brush up on the old and pick up on the new. …and the rains came.  Sunday’s performance by the Award-winning Carolina Breakers at Boom Boom’s 13th Ave. Raw Bar was cancelled when the skies opened up over the Boom Dock.  OD Mafia DJ Dan Summitt was asked to “make a little noise” on the deck so with the help of Heath Brown they quickly set up the equipment and started playing.  We ended up with a very good crowd that stayed until the last song was played.  Rain threatened throughout the evening but we partied till the end.  Thanks to all that came out to Boom Boom’s last night and turned a damp, dismal, day into an evening filled with dance and laughter.  You guys are the greatest.

It was a great time yesterday and Joey Warren, Ray Scott and the awesome Sand Band would not let the weather rain on the party.

Well, I woke up Sunday morning With no way to hold my head that didn’t hurt.  It didn’t stop Johnny Cash and it won’t stop the guys and girls of OD Mafia.  Let the festivities begin.  At 1pm it’s Pam Moore‘s favorite group of guys, Six Stylez performing on the Ocean Front deck of HOTO’s.  This band is relatively new on the beach but OD Mafia expects them to quickly become one of your favorites. Experience is no question for this group of young entertainers, having members that have played professionally, toured extensively throughout the U.S. and performed almost every event scenario you can imagine.  Six Stylez plays anything from your favorite dance tunes of old and new, to the heart pumping rock of the 80’s!  Get ready to be amazed, (and be sure to bring your dancing shoes!) and prepare yourselves for SIX STYLEZ!!! An OD Mafia favorite.

It’s the man with the high pockets and low voice at HOTO’s following Six Stylez.  OD Mafia friend and associate DJ David Harris is manning the DJ booth at Harold’s On The Ocean  and is sure to play your favorite songs.  Whether it’s Carolina Beach, Boogie, Country, Disco, Funk, Motown, or rock and roll David is an expert at knowing what to play and when to play it.  This insight has earned him a job as one of the “house” DJ’s at Fat Harold’s, not an easy accomplishment.  Come out and listen to David.  You’ll be glad you did.

The 2011 Favortie New Artist Carolina Breakers pays a visit to the 2011 Show Club of the Year, Boom Boom’s Raw Bar and brings along their Beach magic. Carolina Breakers, “Ride the Wave”.  Who knew the wave generated by the Carolina Breakers would quickly turn into a tsunami?  The Cammy Award winning Carolina Breakers have swept through the Carolinas wowing everyone with the raw power of their vocals and sheer energy of their performance.  The Carolina Breakers and ODMafia, a true Carolina phenomena!

Jason Justice mans the DJ Booth at Fat Harold’s Beach Club tonight at 7pm and will spin your favorite tunes until 11pm.  Jason has a natural feel for the songs you want to hear and is a favortie at Fat Harold’s.  While there, be sure to try one of Fat Harold’s Bologna Sandwich.  You haven’t been to the beach until you’ve been to Fat Harold’s.

Duck’s Beach Club brings to you tonight the North Tower Band.  North Tower has been one of the south’s great party bands for over 30 years, providing the best in oldies, beach, top 40 and funk. Sizzling brass, super vocals, and a wide ranging repertoire all contribute to making this event a night to remember!  North Tower takes the stage at Duck’s Beach Club at 8:30 and plays until the wee hours of the morning.

Between sets DJ Paul Craver will wow you with his vast collection of great music and his uncanny ability to fill the dance floor with fun..  Don’t be surprised to leave with a new-best-favorite song. The number of Carolina Beach Music Awards earned by Jim Quick and Coastline attests to their phenomenal talent as singers, songwriters and musicians.  Jim Quick can capture and captivate an audience like no other.  Boys and girls, wear your party panties to this one! It’s never the same but it’s always fun.  Comment most often heard after a Jim Quick performance “Did he really say that?”  The band will start about 8 or so and play until midnight or after.  An Absolute OD Mafia favorite.

Across the street it’s Ducks Beach Club.  The doors open at 7:30 with the Award Winning DJ Paul Craver.  Paul’s uncanny ability to read a crowd and fill a dance floor is known and envied by all.  Paul has also earned many accolades and won many awards as a vocalist. If you’re new to the beach ask Paul to play one or two of his releases.  You’ll end up buying a CD or two.  Paul is a great friend to all and has been especially kind to the OD Mafia.

Ducks Beach Club also brings back an OD Mafia favorite, Spare Change.  This is a regional band that looks and sounds like a national act. From the ultra-high level of instrumental play to the four and five part vocal harmonies, from the thunderous sound production to the eye-catching light show, this band is unmatched in excitement, energy, and crowd interaction.  Most importantly, these guys are a little different, after all, what other area band has an electric violin?  From ACDC to Zac Brown, Spare Change plays it all.  Spare Change launches their act at 8:30.  Buckle up and prepare to be entertained!

Today at HOTO’s it’s Sams Sonic on the ocean front deck.  OD Mafia hasn’t had the opportunity to hear this band but we’ve heard a lot of good things about it.  Fat Harold always books the best.  Sams Sonic takes the stage at 2 and plays until 6 pm.

The Tall Man with the Low Voice takes over at HOTO’s in Cherry Grove following the Sams Sonic.  DJ David Harris brings his vast collection of Beach, Country, Disco, Funk, Pop, Rock and R&B hits to the ocean front deck.  Combine David’s music library with his   ability to know what you want to hear next is a recipe for a HOTO’s Hoop-De Doo.  DJ David Harris is an OD Mafia favorite.  David plays from 6 till 10pm.

Down the street on Main Street in Ocean Drive it’s all about shag when Fat Harold’s Beach Club hosts the Junior SOS Keepers of the Dance Exhibition.  These young people are the future of Shag and the secret to preserving the music we love.  Exhibition starts at 2:30 and last until 5:30.

At 5pm it’s another Party in the Parking Lot at Fat Harold’s Beach Club.  This is quickly becoming a locals favorite.  Milton White is the DJ and will rock you into the night.  Stop by, have a cold drink, listen to great music and maybe have your picture taken by an OD Mafia photographer.
