The First Annual Salute to North Myrtle Beach Veterans event was a resounding success, with a large turnout of veterans and other attendees at the North Myrtle Beach Museum to honor their service. The ceremony began with the American Legion, Post 186 Color Guard, followed by a stunning rendition of the Star-Spangled Banner performed by Kellie J. Willard. Marlisa and Deb brought the crowd to their feet with their heartfelt performance of “God Bless the USA.” A pinning ceremony took place, during which Dan Summitt presented the Legacy Veteran Honoree award to Dick Hester, former NMB Mayor. Dan also shared information about Quilts of Valor. The evening’s entertainment, provided by Deb Browning and Marlisa Kay Small, was outstanding and left everyone impressed. Ray and Gayle Collins and Jolene Puffer did an astounding job of planning and executing a great program. Photos are here.
